Why Train with Willows?

  • We have 30 years’ experience of providing high quality counselling training and are well respected in our field.

  • We believe that our approach to training sets us apart from other course providers. We are truly committed to the personal, professional and emotional development of our students and to nurturing their unique qualities and attributes.

  • As an active Counselling Agency, we offer a unique training experience where students are exposed to the workings of an agency and the end goal of qualifying as a Counsellor is always in sight.

  • Our Integrative approach to training enables us not only to focus on the main 3 theoretical models, but to explore the insights of additional models, frameworks and theories and ways of working which enhance and inform counselling practice and therapeutic healing and expand our students’’ knowledge and experience.

  • Our Level 3 and Level 4 Diploma students are eligible to apply for an NUS TOTUM student discount card.

  • As we are also a counselling agency, we are able to offer our Diploma students the opportunity to apply for a placement with us at Willows Counselling for the duration of their training. This includes the provision of free supervision. (NB. Placements are not guaranteed. The application process is facilitated by our Counselling Manager and is not a provision of the training course).

Willows Philosophy

We have 30 years’ experience of providing high quality counselling training and are well respected in our field.

We began developing counselling training courses in response to the need for an increased number of trained counselling professionals as over time the complexity of needs of our clients has increased whilst there has simultaneously been a decrease in the availability of statutory services.

Willows Training Philosophy

As a training provider, we strongly believe in providing training which equips people to gain, develop and enhance their personal and professional knowledge, skills and self-awareness. We also feel that it is important for our training to be a resource to qualified counsellor and we achieve this through our programme of post Diploma training courses and CPD workshops.

The recent formulation of our Level 5 Course in Trauma Counselling is very much a natural development of Willows’ historical clinical work in the field of trauma counselling. Willows has always been at the forefront of this work and been well respected in this field.

We believe that our approach to training sets us apart from other training providers. We feel strongly that teaching is about developing people, as opposed to simply the imparting of theoretical knowledge. As such, we are truly committed to the personal, professional and emotional development of each of our students and to nurturing and enhancing their unique qualities and attributes in order to expand their capacity and self-awareness in their practice.
