About the course:
Dreams were once more central to therapeutic work, but now many therapists can feel uncertain about how to respond when clients bring dream material into the room. This CPD workshop offers an introduction to working with client dreams therapeutically, with a particular focus on staying curious, grounded and relational rather than rushing to interpret or explain.
Influenced by process-oriented approaches, including the work of Arnold Mindell, this workshop will explore dreams as part of the client’s unfolding process: something that may carry image, feeling, body experience, conflict, direction, or meaning. Through teaching, discussion, and case material, participants will consider ways of opening up conversations about dreams and working with dream images, symbols and embodied experience in a way that supports the therapeutic relationship.
This workshop is particularly suitable for both qualified and trainee counsellors/psychotherapists.
Please note: Participants may wish to bring a dream to reflect on, though this is not required.
