Overview

A Multi-Modality Framework for Counsellors and Psychotherapists

About the course:

Traditional therapeutic models frequently pathologise ADHD traits, viewing them as behavioural deficits or character flaws. This training aims to shift the therapeutic lens toward a neurodiversity-affirming framework. It teaches practitioners how to translate clinical diagnostic traits into lived realities and safely adapt core modalities (Person-Centred, CBT, and Psychodynamic) to meet the unique neurological needs of ADHD clients.

About the speaker:

Lindsay is a qualified CBT therapist with a Master’s Degree in CBT (MSc CBT), an Honours Degree in Psychology (BSc Hon), and is an accredited member of the BABCP. She specialises in working with children, young people, and adults with a diagnosis of ADHD and Autism by adapting CBT and bringing a number of different models into the therapy room. She is also qualified to diagnose Autism, using the gold standard assessment tools. Lindsay is the director of 1st for CBT.

The content of the course was both fascinating and stretching (in equal measures sometimes!)

Previous Student

I had such an excellent counselling experience. My counsellor has helped me so much on my counselling journey. The whole experience has been enlightening for me in discovering about myself. I am so grateful for having had such a high quality and knowledgeable person counsel me

Counselling Client

I completed the Level 2 in order to test the waters as to whether counselling was something I definitely wanted to pursue. I'd thoroughly recommend it, either if you're considering training in counselling as a profession, or if you'd like to develop listening and responding skills to enhance your current personal or working life.
