About the Workshop:
This one-day workshop will be split into two halves. The morning session will look at the characteristics of both Autism and ADHD, as well as the challenges individuals face. This will allow you to gain a better understanding of the differences you may see between the two conditions in the therapy room. The second half of the day will be activity led, with case studies to examine and formulate.
It will take an interactive approach allowing professionals to develop their skills by understanding more about Autism and ADHD. From the conceptual to the experimental, we will look at the professional implications and considerations and explore helpful ways to build a successful relationship and what to avoid.
Working with clients can be challenging and rewarding and working with Neurodiversity is no different. This training introduces techniques and builds skills, which enable people to get the most out of the relationship with their clients. We will look at the following areas:
- Understanding Neurodiversity in therapy
- Working with clients 1:1
- Working with families and couples
- Working with different age ranges
- Building therapeutic language and concepts
